Healthy Watch Party Alternatives

In my family, we love to spend our weekends hanging out, hosting watch parties, and snacking on our favorite treats. We often gather around our television to watch games and enjoy the potluck snacks that everyone has brought with them, especially these last few weeks. But while I love watching sporting events with friends and family, I often leave watch parties feeling overstuffed. Try these healthy watch party alternatives to keep your snacks exciting, delicious, and healthy.

Protein Pitch Soccer Dirt Cup (10 Servings)

Ingredients:

Instructions

  1. Mix whey protein into vanilla Greek yogurt until it is a whipped consistency
  2. Portion out 10 small plastic cups
  3. Crush Oreos in a bag into a medium-sized crumble
  4. Top each cup to taste
  5. Add 2-3 gummy worms and soccer decor

Berry Blue Swim Platter

The best part about fruit and veggie platters is how easy they are to make your own! Inspired by Desert Chica’s football platters, these recipes are sure to be a hit. Just simply adjust the amount of fruit based on the number of people.

Ingredients:

  • Red grapes
  • Green grapes
  • Blueberries
  • Shredded Coconut

Instructions:

  1. On a large rectangular platter cover the bottom with blueberries and red grapes
  2. Add 3-4 rows of shredded coconut to create lane lines
  3. Add one green grape per row as a “swimmer”

Right on Track Veggie Platter

Ingredients:

  • Thinly sliced baby carrots
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Green Veggies (Cucumber, Celery, Kale chips)
  • Ranch Dipping sauce

Instructions:

  1. On a large oval platter place green veggies in the center
  2. Add a thin circle of baby carrots around the outside of the vegetables
  3. Next, add 2-3 lines of cherry tomatoes outside the carrots
  4. Line the outside of the tomatoes with another line of baby carrots to create a “track”
  5. Add ranch dipping sauce on the side

Pitcher’s Mound Collagen Cups (Yields 6)

You might recognize these strawberry collagen cupcakes from the “Cooking with Collagen” blog, but with a little bit of tweaking these are perfect for a baseball watch party, and too delicious to resist. This recipe from Weight Watchers is so delicious you would have no idea you are getting nearly 23 grams of protein PER cupcake!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Kodiak Buttermilk Pancake Mix
  • 6 Scoops Red Leaf Collagen
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar substitute
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 large egg (or 2 egg whites)
  • 1 Tbsp light butter (made with canola oil)
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8-10 sliced strawberries
  • 8 Tbsp fat-free whip topping
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Whisk together pancake mix, collagen, sugar substitute, baking powder, water, egg, melted butter, almond extract and vanilla extract until combined
  3. Scoop batter into muffin tin (lightly sprayed with non-stick cooking spray) fill 3/4 of the way full
  4. Bake for 12-14 min or until toothpick comes out clean
  5. Let cupcakes cool, while cooling make the filling
  6. Whisk together fat-free whip topping and vanilla extract
  7. Top each cupcake with whipped topping
  8. Slice strawberries into small pieces
  9. Place on the cupcake to mimic the stitches of the baseball
