In the meantime, check out these three healthy, hearty recipe ideas that are sure to be a crowd-pleaser with both your friends and family!

Chili:

Chili is one of those quintessential fall recipes. But too often, we stock it full of fatty meats for a “rustic” flavor. Our recipe focuses on the versatility of chili, adding extra veggies and spice for maximum flavor while cutting back on the fatty meats to cut down on the calories. Use lean meat like ground turkey and then get creative with the veggies! Our favorite recipe uses bell peppers, onions, carrots, celery, and mushrooms! Prefer your chili spicy? Add jalapeños or hot sauce for that added kick! Looking for some extra carbs? Make some rice or potatoes! They add a little extra heartiness to your meal while upping the carb level of this super tasty dish!

Stir Fry:

Stir-fries are great all year round, winter included! These recipes help you hit your daily veggie quota and are macro-friendly if you avoid the store-bought sauces that contain lots of sugars. Choose lean meat like flank steak or chicken breast. Slice your meat into strips and sauté with your favorite veggies in avocado oil. Our favorite recipe contains low-sodium soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sriracha, and lime juice to make a super tasty sauce! Sometimes we add in red chili flakes when we’re feeling a little extra spicy! Serve with white or brown rice and cilantro as a garnish!

Shredded Chicken Tacos:

Are you looking to escape the cold winter weather? While we can’t book you a ticket to where it’s warm, our taco recipe can transport your taste buds down south! We love making our tacos with chili-lime shredded chicken. Put a few chicken breasts in the crockpot with some chicken stock, lime juice, chili powder, adobo, and other spices. In a few hours, you’ll have delicious, tender shredded chicken perfect for tacos! But feel free to change it up with another lean meat like ground turkey! Serve your meat of choice in on corn or flour tortillas with raw onion, radish, cilantro, and lime! If you want some more fats, add avocado or cotija cheese! Want some extra carbs to reach your macros? Serve with a side of cilantro-lime rice or baked sweet potato fries!
